Brighton Pier Arcade Experience

Today I went down to Brighton Pier to experience the arcades machines; I thought the experience of the whole setup was overwhelming however fun. I managed to use up all my coins and coppers in the arcade machines and though some the machines ripped me off!

This is what Brighton Pier looks like and if anyone has the chance to go I recommend it however you will lose all of your money! The arcade machines gave me an incentive to try out other arcade games plus this trip was very nostalgic for me because I remember when I used to play on these machines when I was thirteen - fourteen.

The best type of arcade for me is the aim and shoot games and racing games are also good; I cannot believe that arcade machines are popular with the young generation of today. I hardly got to play on arcade machines because I lived in the countryside so when ever I had the chance to play on arcade machine it was a thrilling and awesome experience.

The graphics of these machines still entail a virtual reality type setup such as when you are riding an arcade motorbike it feels like the real deal. I guess that what it was designed for than just using a games controller. Overall I enjoyed the experience and I would definitely go there again and I would recommend it to anyone because it is a good time and plus you get to waste lots of coppers!!

In order to win anything you have to have lots of coins and spend all day there and then you might win a prize or something else.

Charlie Brooker Game Wipe Video:

I have just watch Charlie Brooker give his opinion on games in the past and games today and I agree on some the points and that is games have become more violent but also more involve with the user of the games system such Virtual Reality Games.

I agree with what Dara O'Brien said about games and that is a lot of Denial of Content in many games where there is not a lot of access to certain areas in the game plus games have become more challenging and so it is a lot harder to get to the end or the boss.

There are many types of game which work on many different types of platforms for instance Role Playing games I find are more for a PC platform rather than a console. Games have been viewed by the Media as childish and have become unpopular, they also have said certain games should not be for sale such as Man Hunt because of the content.

It interesting to see different people reactions towards gaming now than when gaming first arrived and people's views have considerable changed over the years and I think this is due to the content of the games and also the effect it has on children and teenagers.

When gaming first arrived the game content was a lot simple and many of them were innocent and not violent at all however the games has dramatically increased in the past twenty years and now gaming is every and even in our homes. I personally enjoy gaming however some games are over the top and I agree games like Man Hunt should not be sold of the shelves as it is to violent and insane.

When I was about seven or eight my dad brought me Packard Bell 486 with 4 MBs of RAM. So I buy this Magazine - PC Format (A Gaming Magazine) and this Magazine came with a CD with Demos of Games on it. So I look at the CD and there were about twenty to thirty games on the Disc; some of the games on the disc included 'Same and Max: Hit The Road', 'Descent' and many other games to try out. So I load start to install some of these games on my Computer System and start to realise that none of these games work on my System.

I was pretty annoyed! My Computer System wasn't that good and four years after I realised this even more - my cousin was given a Pentium 90 about the same time I had my 486 and I was pretty jealous because he could run every game under the sun.

Retro Games

Tetris

A classic game which many people have played! If have never heard of this game then you need to get a life. This game is very easier to play and can sometimes get a person frustrated to the brink! This game has been around for years and even I was playing this game in my early days and still at the age of 27 I still enjoy a good game of Tetris and I will never stop playing this classic game.

There are many different versions and forms of Tetris and usually in today's world you can mostly find some sort of Tetris game online and all you have to do is to type the word Tetris in the search engine you are using. Back in the day when Tetris was huge the graphics may have sucked however a good challenging game!

Tetris is mainly played on a computer and I have never seen Tetris or an equivalent of Tetris on any games console such as a Sega Mega Drive or PlayStation. However this not mean to say that Tetris cannot be played on this type of Platform plus the controls for Tetris are basic so this would be abled to be played on a platform such as PlayStation or even Xbox.

Here is screenshot of what the Tetris game looks like - pretty simple as you can see! For me I enjoyed playing this type of game on a computer platform as it was easier to the controls. I love this retro game especially when I was younger however even now I still like a good game of Tetris.
